Our Practice Manager:
Our Practice Manager in our Rhymney practice is Katie Griffiths. Katie joined the Optical Centre in September 2019 as an Optical Assistant. Katie has worked in our Rhymney practice for a number of years and has recently taken on the role of Practice Manager in 2023. Katie is always happy to assist you whatever your eyecare needs so don’t hesitate to give the practice a call if you have any questions, or to arrange an appointment.

Practice History:
In October 2005 we opened our first practice in Rhymney within the Redwood Memorial Hospital. Although successful the development of this practice was restricted by the lack of space, and we quickly realised we needed better quality accommodation to allow us to provide a more comfortable patient experience, improved ocular equipment and a wider choice of eyewear.
In December 2014 we moved across to the just completed Rhymney Integrated Health & Social Care Centre (RIHSCC) on the Lawn Industrial Estate. We managed to secure a really good position in the main entrance area to the Medical Centre adjacent to the Dental practice and on the same level as the two busy GP practices. This practice is now a well-established, busy practice, offering a full range of eye care services and enjoying good relations with the GP practices who refer many patients to us for emergency appointments related to acute eye care symptoms.
We offer a full range of eye care services in Rhymney including emergency appointments, Low Vision examinations, Contact Lens Fittings, Home Visits, OCT scans, Visual Field tests and a great choice of eyewear for both adults and children.
