Oakley was founded in 1975 by James Jannard when he began selling his ‘Oakley Grip’ motorcycle grips at motocross events. This material is still used to make the ear socks on Oakley frames as well as many of the nose pieces. In 1980 Jannard created the O-Frame goggles with the ‘Oakley’ logo on the strap and from that moment the brand generated prominence and popularity within the sports sector. In 2004 Oakley signed a four-year agreement to manufacture eyewear with Fox Racing, and the brand also sponsored members of the US Olympic Team in 2012. The Oakley brand has now become a household eyewear name and remains the most popular choice for sports eyewear.
Within all of our practices we stock a range of both optical and sunglass Oakley frames. Additionally, if there is a frame you’ve had your eye on that we don’t have in stock we are able to order it in for you. We can also order these frames in for you with your choice of either Oakley branded lenses or glaze them ourselves with our own optical quality lenses in our onsite lab.
